On September 11th, Social Media Week Accra officially kicked off. From the 11th to the 15th of September 2017, the city of Accra officially experienced its first Social Media Week experience at the Accra Mall.
The event was organised by Echo House and featured a variety of speakers from Ghana and other parts of the world. Social Media Week was to highlight the power of social media and how it can be leveraged to enhance your profile.
Speakers at the event spoke on different themes including using the power of LinkedIn to improve your job prospects, harnessing the power of Twitter to generate content and how the future of media and branding is changing.
The event also featured some inspirational and motivating stories from speakers like Tatas Caritas who spoke about her venture, Kenkey for the Needy. Other speakers included Papa Oppong (a fashion designer) who has been featured in Forbes magazine for his work, and April Reigns, the creator of the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite.
It was a great week filled with interesting discussions and events and we’re definitely can’t wait for next year’s event. #SMWiAccra
