On Thursday, 18th July 2018, Ghana held it’s first edition of the Ghana Tech Summit at the Accra Conference center. Drawing inspiration from the Haiti Tech Summit, Christine Ntim and Einstein Ntim founded the Ghana Tech Summit to emulate the success of the Haiti Tech Summit.
Speakers from Silicon Valley and Ghana’s own tech space were on scene to partake in panel discussions and keynote speeches to kick off discussions about technology in Ghana.
The first day was kicked off with some panel discussions with topics on “Ghana Being The Next Silicon Valley” which included panelists such as Mariam Iqbal (Partnerships and Funding Associate, MEST).
Other panel discussions included the topic of “The Influencers of Millennial Generation” which had personalities including Yasmin Kumi (CEO, African Foresight Group) and Linda Ashong (StemBees) discussing entrepreneurship, their personal journeys and the future of millennials in Ghana.
Keynote speakers included Anne Rosenberg of SAP-Next Gen and Ryan Scott, CEO of Akoin, a cryptocurrency by from the celebrity singer, Akon.
On Day 2 started off with a fireside chat with Lola Kassim (General Manager of Uber West Africa), talking about Uber, their competition and the future of ridesharing in West Africa.

There were more panel discussions including a discussion on E-Commerce, Education and the Future of Media, Sports and Entertainment. Key personalities included Daraiha Greene (Google), Cecil Senna Nutakor (E-Campus) and Sarah Michelle Mills (General Electric)
