How To: Block Ads On YouTube

By Joseph-Albert Kuuire 2 Min Read

Getting tired of being interrupted with ads before, during, and after you watch a YouTube video? Yeah, we know the feeling.

With this guide, we’ll show you how to block ads using an Ad Blocker browser extension when watching your favorite YouTube videos online. This guide is for Microsoft Edge browser users but it can be replicated on other browsers as well.

Most modern browsers now have extensions so this guide can basically be used for all browsers.

In your Microsoft Edge browser (or the browser of your choice), look for the “Extensions” settings.

In the Extensions settings, click on the “Get Extensions For Microsoft Edge” link

The link will take you to the Extensions store. In the search bar, search “Ad Blocker Plus”

In the search results, look for the “Adblock Plus” result and click on it

Click on the “Get” button in the upper right corner

A small window will appear asking if you want to add the extension. Click on “Add Extension” to add the extension to your browser

A new tab will open saying that the extension has been successfully added

The “AdBlocker” extension should now appear in your menu bar. It will also show in the Extensions menu.

Congratulations! You should now be able to watch YouTube videos without ads playing.
