Twitter Adds “View Counts” To Tweets

Twitter has added a new feature called “View Counts” to tweets.

View counts show the total number of times a Tweet has been viewed. Users can now easily see the reach of their own tweets and the tweets they see on the timeline.

“View Counts” however will not apply to Community Tweets, Twitter Circle tweets and older tweets.

What Counts As A Viewer

Currently, everyone on Twitter will be able to see view counts on Tweets.

Anyone who views your tweets counts as a view. This applies to wherever they see your tweet including on the Twitter home, search, profiles and embedded tweets. It also counts if a user follows you or not.

A user viewing a tweet on web counts as one view but the same user viewing the same tweet on mobile counts another view.

View counts also apply to protected or private accounts as well.
